The awardees were recognized for their involvement and meritorious accomplishment during the conduct of SAFE 2016, police operations and other commendable accomplishments. One noteworthy was the recent accomplishment of Cavite particularly Bacoor City Police Station wherein more r less 10 kilos and 400 grams of suspected shabu were confiscated and 4 suspects were arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted on May 17, 2016 at Park Homes, Brgy. Queensrow, West Central, Bacoor City. Anaother remarkable deed that was given recognition was the act of the couple police officers namely PO2 Raymond L Matundan and PO1 Mary Joy M Matundan both members of Talisay Municipal Police Station of Batangas Police Provincial Office who displayed honesty and dedication by bringing back without hesitations to the owner of the lost pouch bag in May 14, 2016, containing large amount of money, passbook, ATM Cards and other valuable belongings owned by Mrs. Teresa De Leon Maravilla of Brgy. Sto. Tomas, Batangas. The story of the couple were already featured in various TV program both local and national and was also liked by netizens i the social media after it went viral. They were also given recognition by the local government of Taisay for such exemplary display of character. The awards were presented by PRO4A Officer-In-Charge PCSUPT Ronald V Santos assisted by Regional Chief Directorial Staff PSSUPT Bernabe M. Balba.

COMELEC, PRO4A and AFP discussed Security Preparations for Barangay and SK Elections 2018 Camp Vicente Lim-Police Regional Office 4A headed by PCSupt Ma.O R Aplasca, AFP counterparts led by MGen. Rhoderick M Parayno, Commander, 2nd ID, and Atty. Juanito O Icaro, Regional Election Director IV convened today for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections 2018 held at Multi-Purpose Center, Camp BGen Vicente P Lim, Calamba City. Among the participants were the Provincial Directors, Provincial Election Officers and Supervisors, and PRO4A Regional Staff. The gathering aimed to seek the need for more dynamic strategies on the security preparation for the upcoming elections to provide an honest, safe and secure election. The Provincial Directors of the CALABARZON and the AFP presented their peace and order situation and security preparations for elections. They presented the situation update in their respective area of responsibility. Some of the concerns were the various threats by the communist groups. RD Aplasca ordered all the Provincial Directors and AFP to finalize the security and contingency plans and deployment plan of the personnel. “I am now directing all the recall of the security personnel detailed to all public officials; this is in line to the COMELEC Omnibus Election Code under Section 261. Atty. Gloria G Ramos-Petallo, Provincial Election Supervisor IV of Batangas discussed the calendar of activities based on COMELEC Resolution 102496, the deputization of AFP and PNP (Comelec Resolution 10204) and guidelines in placing a certain area under COMELEC control (Comelec Resolution 10199) in connection with the May 14, 2018 Synchronized Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Elections. Atty. Petallo further discussed the exemption of PNP from the prohibition of the transfer of personnel during election period (COMELEC Res. 10205) from April 14 May 21, 2018; the activation of the Regional Joint Security Control Center (Comelec Res. 10249) and the COMELEC gun ban, checkpoints and liquor ban. MGen Parayno of AFP assured their commitment while working closely with the COMELEC and the PNP to provide honest and secured election. On his message, Atty. Juanito O Icaro expresses his gratitude to PNP and AFP for always being there to help the COMELEC. “I don’t see any reasons not to pursue this election, rest assured that (will have) a safe, honest and peaceful election because of the support of the PNP and AFP”. Meanwhile, RD Aplasca appealed to the COMELEC legal supervisors to be the lead agency in initiating legal actions in case of apprehension of vote buying. In his final message, RD Aplasca direct the PNP and AFP to be always alert and vigilant this coming election and continue to give updates. “Let us not dwell on our own individual inadequacies but on our strength and combined efforts in making this election honest, safe and secure as possible”, RD Aplasca concluded.
