PRO 4A Anti-Illegal Drug Operations Gain High While Crime Status on Down Trend Camp Vicente Lim - The Police Regional Office CALABARZON scored high on its Anti-Illegal Drig Operations conducted from June 1-July 10, 2016 while the records shows that its crime status is in down trend. From this period, the PRO CALABARZON conducted 1,240 operations on Anti-Illegal Drugs which resulted to the arrest of 1,786 persons, confiscation of 1,637.7026 grams of shabu, 8,475.7154 grams of marijuana with estimated total street value of Php17,410,663.32, while 70 suspects were recorded Killed in Action during the said operations. Of this numbers, 9 were in Batangas, 12 in Cavite, 3 in Quezon, 18 in Rizal, and 28 in Laguna which had the most number of persons Killed in Action. 1, 265 cases were filed in court. Also, a total of 8,159 illegal drug personalities voluntarily surrendered from July 1-10, 2016 with Rizal Province having the most number totalling to 2, 917 followed by Batangas with 2, 337, Cavite with 1,448, Laguna with 798 and Quezon with 659. Further, out of the total of 11,675 PNP personnel of PRO4A, 3, 953 had already undergone random drug test. From this number, two (2) personnel from Batangas PPO with a  rank of SPO1 and PO1 and one (1) from Quezon PPO, also a PO1 were found positive with the initial urine drug test. Subject personnel were on restrictive custody while waiting for the result of their confirmatory test Meanwhile, for the crime status of the region, since June of this year, a significant decrease in number of crime incidents were recorded. From a weekly average of 241 incidents, it went down to 132 incidents for the period covering from July 4-9, 2016 under the 7 Focus Crimes (Murder, Homicide, Robbery, Theft, Carnapping, Motornapping, Physical Injuries). Notably, for the crime of Robbery (45) and Theft (81), from an average weekly of 126 it went down to 79; for motornapping (25) and carnapping (3), from 28 it went down to 8 incidents; and for Physical Injury from average weekly of 60 incidents, it went down to 19 incidents while for murder (26) and homicide (5), from 31 incidents, it went down to 24 incidents. With this, the region is further assessing the situation if there is a connection between prevailing crime status with that of the region’s vigorous anti-illegal campaign. RD also ordered for the weekly monitoring and performance audit of all unit commanders in their anti-illegal drug operations. “We will continuously lead the cleansing and ridding of our ranks of misfits and erring personnel. We will be serious in our battle against illegal drugs personalities and we will constantly appeal to our community and our stakeholders for their support and cooperation so that together will win this battle,” said regional Director PCSUPT Valfrie G Tabian.
