Camp BGen Vicente P Lim – The Camp BGen Vicente P Lim grounds served as evacuation area for the people holding offices inside the camp such as Police Regional Office CALABARZON and other tenant units during the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held today at around 2:00 in the afternoon.

PRO4A Regional Director PBGEN Edward E Carranza as member of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (RDRRMC) shared with other members of the council during the Ceremonial Pressing of Button indicating a strong ground shaking.

Participants of the said drill immediately performed Duck, Cover, and Hold technique as an initial response for a strong earthquake and evacuated to the safe are at the Camp BGen Vicente Lim parade ground.

As a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) during an earthquake, the council performed succeeding operations such as the Declaration of Red Alert Status of RDRRMC Operations Center, Initial Structure and Communication Check, The Arrival of members of RDRRMC CALABARZON at the site, Establishment of Rapid Emergency Telecommunications Team (RETT), the Aerial Damage Assessment, Check-In of Regional Incident Management Team (IMT), Designation of Incident Commander, Situation Briefing, and Meetings and Briefings, Response Cluster Meeting.

According to a study conducted by the Metro Manila Earthquake Impact Reduction on 2004, and Greater Metro Manila Area-Ready Project on 2014, the National Capital Region including nearby regions such as CALABARZON will likely to be hit by a Magnitude 7.2 Earthquake.
