Camp BGen Vicente P Lim – The former Chief, Philippine National Police now Senator of the 18th Congress of the Republic of the Philippines Ronald M. Dela Rosa as the Guest of Honor and Speaker emphasized the PNP’s Philosophy of Service, Honor, and Justice to the members of Police Regional Office CALABARZON and other esteemed visitors during the 118th Police Service Anniversary Celebration held on September 5, 2019 @ 8:00 AM at Camp BGen Vicente P Lim Brgy,

Mayapa, Calamba City, Laguna.

With this year’s theme “Pinaghusay na Serbisyo, Alay sa Sambayanang Pilipino,” Senator Dela Rosa reminded everyone to embrace the 3 philosophies in the performance of duties as police officers. “Kung ito ay isa-puso, isa-isip, at isa-diwa natin ay hindi tayo magkakamali at wala tayong dapat ikahiya. One should not be tainted with irregularities and corruption, being honorable should not build barrier between you even the lowest person in the community. One can be honorable by making people feel good,” the hard rock Senator emphasized during his speech.

During the celebration, Senator Dela Rosa recognized and congratulates the Regional Office for its outstanding achievements having been conferred as one of the Special Unit Awardees for accomplishing the most number of arrested Gun-for-Hire suspects in relation to the implementation of COMELEC Gun Ban during the 2019 elections. The award was given during the same celebration held last August 9 in Camp Crame.

Awarding of individuals and units highlighted this year’s 118th Police Service Anniversary Celebration.

“Binabati ko ang inyong mga outstanding personnel bilang patunay na ang PRO4A ay hindi nauubusan ng mga bayaning pulis na magigiting, masigasig maglingkod at may pagmamahal sa bayan,” the Senator said further giving emphasis on seeking ways to improve the condition of the police force and promote the reforms in the PNP organization.

“I want you to know that the PNP will always have a special place in my heart. Ang pangako ko sa PNP ay hindi ko kayo pababayaan habang nasa Senado ako,” the Senator also said.

Senator Ronald M. Dela Rosa retired as the 21st Chief PNP and was later appointed as Bureau Corrections Chief who led the crackdown on illegal activites, illegal drugs and corruptions in the Bureau.

Inspired by his concern for the welfare of his countrymen, he ran for public office earning the 5th spot for Senator in the recent 2019 elections.

After being proclaimed as one of the Senators for the 18th Congress, he immediately filed a bill calling for the imposition of the death penalty in certain crimes punishable under RA 9165, and a bill which aims to provide a scholarship program to young people who want to become policemen. Another priority bill he filed was the bill aiming towards the safety and security of the young generation with the inclusion of substance abuse prevention education in the K-12 curriculum, the mandatory ROTC, police scholarships and the establishment of crisis centers for street children.

“Magtulungan po tayo para sa ating bayan,” he said while challenging the entire PRO4A family to continue serving well and making the PNP and the Filipino people proud as servants and protectors.

Meanwhile, PRO4A Regional Director Police Brigadier General Edward E Carranza cited the significance of working together as CALABARZON celebrates victory winning its war against various sorts of criminality in the entire region.

“Peace is possible, if we all work together, as one piece. Let me assure everyone that with the hard working men and women of CALABARZON, more criminals will fall, more will be accounted, and many more will leave CALABARZON because I have directed my Provincial Directors to open the gates of hell and accommodate these bad elements,” RD Carranza in a warning tone.
